Welcome to the Boulder
Junction Trail Reports page. As regular visitors to Boulder Junction
will know, the local snowmobile club offers some of the finest
riding in the Midwest.
The 130 miles of trail in and
around the Boulder Junction area are constantly groomed throughout
the season, to keep them in tip-top shape. The trails are connected
to hundreds of miles of Vilas County trails, and thousands of miles
of northern Wisconsin trails. It's no accident that our area
continually wins awards for best snowmobile destination. It is also
worth noting that Boulder Junction lies far enough north that we are
well inside the U.P. snow-belt. We often receive lake effect snow
that communities to our south do not receive.

Condition Reports
Boulder Junction area trails are currently in FAIR to GOOD condition with a few bare spots. Trails are groomed and conditions should remain about the same throughout the weekend. Will update you if and when conditions change. Snowmobile Club Breakfast is Sunday, February 19 at Headwaters Restaurant. A delicious breakfast buffet will be served from 8:30am to 12:30pm. All proceeds will benefit the Boulder Junction Snowmobile Club. Enjoy the ride!

Boulder Junction area trails are GOOD condition. We received about 6 inches of fresh snow over the past 24 hours and it looks beautiful out there! Boulder Junction area trails are FAIR to GOOD condition. We received a couple inches+ of fresh snow last night into this morning and it is still falling. Groomers were out last night and groomed some of this trails. The entire system will be groomed this evening and conditions should be in good shape for the weekend! THE STATE FUNDED SNOWMOBILE TRAIL SYSTEM IN VILAS COUNTY WILL OFFICIALLY OPEN AT NOON ON MONDAY 12 DECEMBER 2011.
With minimal snow, the use of caution is strongly recommended. Trails are in early season condition and riders may encounter rough areas, icy patches and wet segments in low-lying areas. More snow is needed to enable area snowmobile clubs to provide the well groomed world class trails Vilas County is noted for.

The Vilas County Snowmobile Alliance has set a TARGET DATE of Monday, December 12, 2011 for the official opening of the state funded snowmobile trail system in Vilas County, CONDITIONS PERMITTING. We will post when trails are officially opened. Until then LET IT SNOW!
