Best guess 8 to 10 inches of snow since last night and still very lightly snowing with the forecast calling for cold temps and light snow. Groomers are grooming all trails with conditions fair to good. Watch out for wet areas after the warm but the cold temps will help to freeze them up. Sam

Had a chance to go for a short ride on trail 2 in Ironwood then some back trails. Trail 2 was a little rough but with some grooming it will not be to bad and the good news is the groomers are coming back out later today. The forecast is calling for cold temps starting tonight along with snow up to 10 inches by Wednesday. If we get the snow the trails should be in fairly good shape along with the cold temps to freeze up any wet areas after the warm up. Have no clue if this will be enough to help all the trails in the area only time will tell and how much snow we get. Will keep you posted as to how it turns out. Sam

After several single digit days, looks like a great upcoming weekend-20 will feel like a heat wave. It's still early season riding, but better than usual early season. Groomers from the Gogebic Range Trail Authority, Gogebic Area Grooming, Watersmeet, and North Country Snowmobile Club in Ontonagon are all out on the trails. A 'heads up' from the GRTA-trail 11S is closed for about a week due to logging, but the good news on this trail is they are working on a permanent re-route around that wet hole that causes so much trouble. Again the closure shouldn't last too long and we'll keep you informed. Also,in Ontonagon, watch for ice East on Trail 12, Norwich Rd. and LP Walsh.
Remember, the groomers are out A LOT right now, so PLEASE pull over when you see them.
Keep in mind, although MI trails opened December 1st, they may or may not be groomed. WI Trails are now officially open.

WESTERN U.P. TRAIL REPORT - 12/14/2009
We've had a little more fresh snow in the past 24-anywhere from 1 - 5 inches or so depending where it's measured across the county.
Groomers from the Gogebic Range Trail Authority, Gogebic Area Grooming and Watersmeet are all on their regular schedules, working on the trails. Conditions are improving but are still in the "early season" category as there's still a lot of wet areas. 11N and 11S haven't been able to even be "rolled" yet. Cold temps are starting to freeze things up
Keep in mind, although MI trails open as of December 1st, they may or may not be groomed. WI Trails are now officially open.

Trails are open in Michigan to bad there is not enough snow to ride them. We have 2 to 4 inches of snow on the ground not enough to do anything at this time. The bad news is the forecast is not looking to good at this time for snow, what we need is a big storm to surprise us so we can get this season going. Wisconsin trails open after deer season and snow. Sam
