We recieved another 2-3" of snow on monday night. Combine that with the Heavy 3-4" wet snow we recieved Sunday and the trails have improved alot. I would still call the trails good. Cold temps are in the forecast with some snow showers. It is looking like winter again in the Northwoods! Please try to attend our upcoming fundraisers: Sunday Feb 7th, Breakfast at Pine Baron's and The Winterfest Rendezvous Saturday Feb 13th at Rest Lake Park. (snowmobile raffle to follow at "The Tower INN")

We recieved about 3" of heavy wet snow on Sunday. Temperatures are forecasted to be more seasonal (cooler). More snow is in the forecast. The new snow was needed and will help our trails. I would still call our trails good. The Pine Baron's is having a Breakfast for our Club on Feb 7th 9am-noon. Please attend. The food will be fabulous!

Trail conditions took a hit this week with warm weather and rain last night. Believe it or not the people I talked to were finding good riding on our trail 2 and towards springstead (182) They are improving today with heavy wet snow. Tune in tommorrow and I can give you a better idea after we see how much we get. I would still call our trails good and fair in more exposed areas.

Warm weather and sun has hurt the trails a bit. Sections that share plowed roads are bare in spots. The trails are "snirty" in areas where the sun hits them. Snirty meaning dirty snow. We definitely need more snow but there is still good riding to be had. The riders I talked to this weekend were still finding some good riding. I would call our trails Good and Fair to good in the more exposed and plowed areas. Think snow. The Spaghetti feed was a great success, Our next event is the Breakfast at Pine Baron's Sun Feb 7th 9am- Noon.

After A very busy week for the trails, we continue to rate our trails as very good. Many thanks to our groomers who were out every night last week. Our regular Grooming schedule is Tue- Sun. Snow flurries today with more in the forecast. There was more presence of authorities in the area this past week. Make sure you obey all stop signs as if you were in a vehicle. Also obey speed signs if you are on roads. Make sure your registraion is current. Don't give them an excuse to pull you over. Happy and safe ridng to all.

Our trails continue to be rated very good. It is snowing again! This long weekend will be a busy one on the trails. Remember to signal oncoming riders how many are behind you. Make sure your tail light and brake lights work. Assume you will meet someone on every corner. The club sells reflective helmet stickers, which are a great safety item. They are available at the Pea Patch and Dietz's and are only $3. Happy New Year!!

Our trails are currently rated "very good." We have recieved a couple more inches of snow. It seems we are picking up a little every day. Our groomer will be out every night during this holiday week. This is some of the best riding I've seen for the Holiday week in quite a few years. I hope every one has a Happy New Year!!!

Our trails are open and listed in good condition. Steady cold weather and recent snow falls have left good snow cover. This has made for some good early season riding conditions. More snow is in the forecast. Now is the time to get some riding in before the xmas crowds arrive.

We recieved another 4-5" of snow last night with more in the forecast. Vilas County Trails will officially open Wed dec 16th at 8am. Our Groomer has been out packing the swampy sections of our trails and the cold has frozen them solid. Anyone looking to get some riding in before the Christmas New years rush should take advantage.

Well the temperatures and snow are cooperating. Several very cold nights have firmed up the swamps. The forecast is for more cold nights and chance of snow each day. The DNR has once again pushed our trail opening back from Dec 1st to Dec 15th. We are confident that our trails will be ready to go at that time.

The Skeeters x-mas party/ meeting was last nite at the Tower Inn. Thanks to Kurt and his staff for a wonderful meal! At this time we are in need of cold weather and snow. Cold to freeze up the swamps and lakes. Snow, well that's obvious. The trails are brushed and ready to go. Will keep you posted.
