Manitowish Waters Weather Report

Manitowish Waters, Wisconsin Snowmobiling and Snowmobile Trail Conditions Reports
Warm weather and sun have taken their toll on sections of trail exposed to sun. The trails in the woods are still good. The forecast is calling for more warm weather and sun. I can't tell you what the trails will be like this weekend. That is going to depend on how much sun we get. I do know that Northern Central Wisconsin has the only rideable snow in the State. Will we get more snow next week? I dont know, I hope so. I can only suggest that if you are riding in the next few days, try to stay on trails that are shaded and know that heavily traveled trails in and out of towns are going to be "Snirty" The ice base is still there, just getting dirty. It is currently overcast. Remember our club Breakfast this Sunday at The Tower Inn 8am-noon. Kurt does a great job with the food and we will have raffles and pull tabs available.

Our trails still range from good to very good. I will update again Thursday. The forecast is for highs in the mid to upper 30's. This will soften trails up a bit. As always use caution in the corners. Stop by the Tower Inn this Sunday between 8am and noon for a great breakfast buffet. Proceeds benefit trail maintenance. The Drawing for our guns and roses raffle will take place at 11:30ish so make sure to get your tickets for a chance to win a ruger .380 LCP pistol and a dozen roses.

5" of new snow has helped upgrade our trails to very good. More snow is in the forecast. Our trails as well as Area trail systems are as good as we have seen in several years. A big thankyou to all the groomers! Our Next Club fundraiser is an All You Can Eat Breakfast at the Tower Inn: Sunday Feb 5th 8am-noon. This Saturday There will be a benefit fundraiser for Dawn from the Howling Dog at the Rustic Roadhaus starting at 3pm. Many raffle items and great prizes. Proceeds will help Dawn with Medical Bills incurred after almost a month in the Hospital. Dawn is always helping others out, So if you can make it Saturday to the Rustic, That would be great!

Our trails are fair to good. The base is good, corners are getting a bit icy so use caution. Heavy traffic over the weekend has caused the trails to get a "snirty" look.(dirty snow)But the base is holding up well and we are grooming. The forecast is looking like we might get a little more snow and I will update as that happens. The Rustic Roadhaus is hosting an all you can eat Pizza Party This Saturday from 5-9pm. Proceeds benefit the Manitowish Waters Sno Skeeters. Hope to see you there.

We are downgrading our trail report from good to fair. Trails are still good in shaded areas but the sun and warm weather has taken its toll on trails exposed to the sun. We continue to groom and the forecast is for Lake effect snow wednesday, Thursday and Friday. A few inches of snow would help considerably. We have seen alot of traffic over the past week and riders have been pleasantly suprised with fairly good conditions. If we can get some snow later this week we will be in good shape again. temperatures will be close to 40 today and Tue and then return to more seasonal temps wed.

I am still calling our trail condition "early season" but stay tuned, that could change rapidly. It is currently snowing and lake effect snow is in the forecast each day. It will only take a few inches to upgrade conditions. In fact the riders we have talked to are "pleasantly suprised" at the trail conditions. Upcoming Club events: Sat Jan 7th,All you can eat spaghetti at the Pea Patch 5-9pm. Sat Jan 21st, All you can eat Pizza at the Rustic Roadhaus 5-9pm. Thankyou and think snow!

We are still reporting our trail condition as early season. Our groomer was out last night panning the trails. We have been getting some lake effect snow. People have been riding. We still need a few more inches before I can upgrade condions. Merry Christmas and Think Snow!

We Received about 2-3 inches of snow thur and Fri. Our trails are open and riders are out there, however I still have to rate our trails as poor until we recieve another few inches of snow. Happy Holidays to everyone and think snow!

Our trails will open Monday Dec 12th at noon. Currently our trail condition is poor. Early season riders please use caution as we have brushed trails but have yet to groom. Grooming will commence after we recieve a few more inches of snow. Use caution in swamp sections. Stay off of the lakes. None of our trails cross lakes, But I always like to warn people that lake riding is dangerous this time of year. This is a pretty good start with snow and cold weather, just need a few more inches of the white stuff to upgrade conditions. Think Snow!!!!
