Trail and lake conditions as of now, 7:45 AM.
As our trails continue to see snowmobile traffic we are fortunate that we have had cold temps the last couple of weeks as this helps keep the trails in perty good condition.
As we have seen a slight warm up the past couple of days, this has made our riding comfort good.
We are for casted for snow the next 3 days, this will help the trails.
Our lakes are all doing well, the ice is thick and the snow is good.
A note of caution, be careful around some of the large docks in the ice, they could have bubbler's underneath them from preventing the ice form freezing, this ensures the dock will not be damaged from the ice forming, (OPEN WATER).
Be careful, ride safe and as always,
Do not listen to negative talk and do not listen to negative people.

Trail and lake conditions as of now, as the temps,. are dropping and the lake effect snow is starting up agian we are looking for some accumulation.
The snow is falling at a steady pace, as yesterdays snow only amounted to a couple of inches, although we need all we can get.
This lake effect snow that is now falling should build up on our trails quickly, key word (should), with the wind now out of the north west after several days of a warm south wind and the temps. falling, we are forecasted to get snow thru tomarrow.
On Presque-isle Lake as of now, our temp. is 26 F, this is a current on the lake reading.
Ride on, be safe and as always, do not listen to negative talk and do not listen to negative people.

Trail and lake conditions as of 7:10 PM. (NOW)
Our trails as well as most of the northern Wisc. trails have been getting a lot of ride time this past weekend and we are glad to see it!!
The past 3 days of warm weather has brought out a lot of people to the north.
The warm temps. are not creating slush on the lakes, as of yet and probably wont.
Our trails are showing some small signs of where and tare, due to the warm temps, now that the temps. are dropping again, we will see some light snow the next few days, although the snow is to be slight to light.
This winter is in full swing and the lakes have finaly froze safe enough for full travel.
As always have fun, be safe, stay possitive and do not listen to negative people.

The trail conditions as of now, we are seeing good traffic on all our trils and the groomers work when weget a few inches of snow to blend into the trails.
Today we recieved about 1 1/2 inches of fresh snow, which is needed to keeep a fresh look on things.
The trails are in good condition, we always can use more snow, which is predicted in the next 48 hrs.
The lake conditions are much better with the cold temps. and freezing some of the slush which of course is helping our snowmobiling.
Please do not go on top of current locations unless proven safe.
Conditions are much, much better than 2 weeks ago, so lets ride!!

Trail and lake conditions as of now.
We are receiving a light amount of lake effect snow, (Lake Superior) as we have the last several days. We have had a 1-2 inch accumulation over the last 3 days.
Trail conditions are good and lake conditions are slushy to good, depending where you are.
This weekends cold snap should Finlay freeze our slush problem, it has been a bugger this year, with thin ice, slush and unpredictable thickness of ice.
Now, on Lake Tomahawk in northern Wisc. the ice fisherman are driving on the ice with there trucks.
Some lakes still only have 7 or 8 inches of ice.
Back to our trail conditions, we are looking very good, the groomers are working, so give them room at night when you see them on the trails, as they have very Little room to move over.
Off the trails in the woods, we have around 17 inches of snow, even though the trails are being used, they are being well taken care of.
The lakes are fair to good, with mostly fair being the agreed testament, be careful.
Continue to avoid current areas.
The shallow swampy areas continue to be very slushy due to the deep snow on the lakes.
Enjoy our trails, they are very beautiful and as always stop in for a burger or pizza.
God Bless.

THE ANGLERS CHOICE GUIDE SERVICE.
Trail coditions as of NOW 01-01-2010 3:55PM.
Snow, Snow, let it Snow.
The trail groomers are working long and hard hours, when you see them, late in the evening or night time, please give them room to get down the trails, as they have very littel room to move over.
Up in the northern part of Vilas county we are getting several inches of snow
this week, also, we are going into the "DEEP FREEZE MODE", the next 2-3 nights we are forcasted to be around 5-15 below zero.
Dress warm please.
Although we have had warm temps for the last 2 months, compared to recent years, this current cold snap could put our deep slush problems, on our lakes, to sleep for the next few weeks.
The north never looked so beautifull.
"Remember" I am viewing Presque-isle WI., Manitowish Waters WI., and Mercer WI., this is the north western section of Vilas county WI. AND IT LOOKS GREAT!
As we use to say, come one, come all, what a great way to kick off the NEW YEAR!
Although our trails are seeing heavy activity, the groomers will keep on working.
Please be curtious to on comming trafic and as always, remember, slow down in the corners.
The ice depths on our lakes are still an area of concern, between 5-10 inches is where most of the lakes are now, today, USE CAUTION, AVOID ALL CURRENT AREAS OR SWAMMPY SHORE LINES.
Have fun, ride safe.
God Bless.

THE ANGLERS CHOICE GUIDE SERVICE.
Current snowmobile conditions on our trails are good, with grooming taking place. Snow depth off the trails, in the woods, is around 15 inches.
Lake conditions are a littel more to be concerned about, all the lakes are froze completley over with any where from 5 to 10 inches of ice, but the deep slush continues to be an issue.
You should still avoid any current areas, or any shallow swampy bay shorelines, for saftey.
We have recieved 2-3 inches of fresh snow the past 4 days, with more light snow predicted for the next 5 days.
We also are recieving zero and below temps. for the next 5 nights and hopefully this will penitrate the thick snow cover on our lakes, which is causing all the slush issues and thin ice.
The next few cold nights should greatly help our lake conditions.
Have fun, ride safe.
God Bless.

THE ANGLERS CHOICE GUIDE SERVICE...12-24-2009...SNOWMOBILE TRAIL CONDITIONS.
As of 4:30 PM. our trails have recieved another 5-8 inches of snow the past 24 hours. Before today our trails were in good to fair condition, with 10-13 inches of snow in the woods.
This recent snow is expected to continue on and off for the next 2 days and snow totals are going to be increasing.
The trail groomers are getting heated up to start grooming as the snow increases in depth.
The lakes are slushy in many areas and ice thickness is also sketchy at best.
Presque-isle Lake is 4-8 inches thick, depending where you are. For now. Avoid all dark grey areas on the ice and avoid any known current areas. Van Vliet Lake is also 4-8 inches thick, the shallow swampy areas are unsafe.
The snow is pushing down heavily on the ice and there are several large, dark grey slushy areas clearly visable.
I will be reporting no less than twice a week for your snowmobiling pleasure.
My reports are very accurate as I live on the lake front of Van Vliet Lake in Presque-isle.
