Three Lakes, Wisconsin, Snowmobiling and Snowmobile Trail Condition Reports

Three Lakes is a small community nestled amidst the 650,000-acre Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest, known for its crystal-clear lakes, abundant fisheries, trophy deer and an array of wildlife species.

The community’s greatest natural resource is the largest inland chain of lakes in the world, consisting of 28 interconnected lakes. The variety of lakes and channels within the chain provide sufficient space for water-skiing, wake boarding and boating as well as canoeing and kayaking. The Nicolet side of the National Forest offers spectacular opportunities for bicycling, hiking, birding, photography, hunting, camping, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing and snowmobiling.

Three Lakes, Wisconsin Snowmobiling and Snowmobile Trail Condition Reports
Three Lakes Area Trail Conditions 1/05/10 - Snow depth - 12" settled in the woods Overall Trails Conditions - "Good" With on and off light flurries daily we now have 12 inches of accumulated snow in the woods. Cooler than normal temperatures are forecast throughout the weekend which will keep the trails in good to very good condition. Following the busy holiday weekend, our groomers worked overtime to get the trails back into shape. Overall, the trails are in good shape with a few portions in very good to excellent shape. We are still having problems getting a groomer through the TL4 swamps to Sugar Camp as well as on Lower Kimball TR11 by the beaver dam but we are grooming up to those points. The lakes are smoothing out, especially on the beaten paths, but please remember to use caution on the lakes! As always, stay CLOSE to the barrels to make certain you are on the safest ice possible. See you on the trails, have fun and ride safe!!
