Western U.P. Snowmobile Trail Report March 18, 2015 Our temps for this week will be highs in the 40′s and lows in the 20′s and cooling down for the weekend. The Gogebic Range Trail Authority Groomers Report: Groomers are not grooming at this time. We need lower temps and some more snow. There is open dirt on the trails in places and the trails are in poor condition. Streets are all bare. Lake Gogebic Groomer’s Report: “I think it’s safe to say that snowmobile season is over for this season. It is suppose to be cooler for this weekend, but just for a couple of days with a chance of flurries. I won’t say that there isn’t a chance for a late March snowstorm, but I do not think the groomers will be able to go out anymore due to the wetness at this point of the season.” The Watersmeet Groomer’s report: Well, it is that time of the year….the temps are on the rise. The snow has melted and the groomers stopped running March 8th. Without a good amount of new snow, this looks like we may be done. If conditions become favorable again, we can groom until the last day of March or even into April, weather and DNR permitting.

Western U.P. Snowmobile Trail Report March 12, 2015 Our temps through the weekend will be in the upper 40′s and low 50′s so our trails will take a beating. Groomers need cooler temps and more snow to groom. The Gogebic Range Trail Authority Groomers Report: Groomers are not grooming at this time. We need lower temps and some more snow. There is some open dirt on the trails in places and the trails are in poor condition. Lake Gogebic Groomer’s Report: As temps reached into the 50′s, the trails are pretty much gone in and around towns or wherever salt was used on the roadways. Some trails back in the woods are still fairly good, but use caution as some streams are opening up. There will be some wet conditions, some bare conditions, but also some fairly good trails in the cover of the woods. VERY IMPORTANT: Watch for the reroute where trails 1, 102 and 8 West meet, north of Merriweather going west for about 5 miles. Watch for changes and signs. YOU CANNOT USE THIS AREA FOR ANY RIDING. This reroute will continue to the end of the season. You may also want to top off your gas if headed north through this area as the reroute will add an extra ten miles (there and back) to your trip with no gas stops between Lake Gogebic and Konteka. To view a map of the reroute go to www.explorewesternup.com click on snowmobiling and go to the Lake Gogebic area. The Watersmeet Groomer’s report: Well, it is that time of the year….the temps are on the rise. The snow has melted and the groomers stopped running March 8th. Without a good amount of new snow, this looks like we may be done. If conditions become favorable again, we can groom until the last day of March or even into April, weather and DNR permitting.

Trail 11S is closed due to logging this winter. Lake Gogebic Groomer’s Report: Groomers will continue to groom weather permitting. VERY IMPORTANT: Watch for the reroute where trails 1, 102 and 8 West meet, north of Merriweather going west for about 5 miles. Watch for changes and signs. YOU CANNOT USE THIS AREA FOR ANY RIDING. The Watersmeet Groomer’s report: Our groomers are running daily and trails are all groomed. All trails are in good condition. Please follow the orange barrels and stay on trail going across Cisco Chain. Please understand what the groomers are up against during a busy weekend….. Lots of traffic over the weekends makes it hard for the groomers to keep up. 6 hour runs take 10 hours due to the drivers encountering hundreds of sleds. This really gives the trails no time to set up especially when you add temps over 30 degrees . Ultimately within 10 minutes or after 30 sleds no one can tell the groomers been down the trail. Please remember groomers are out both day and night, so watch for them, please pull over or at least slow down and wait for the operator to signal you by whenever you see them. Groomers have the right of way. JUST ONE MORE REMINDER: PLEASE STAY ON MARKED TRAILS. RIDING ON UNMARKED TRAILS CAN RESULT IN THE CLUBS LOSING EASEMENT FOR THAT TRAIL AND IT CAN ALSO RESULT IN A POSSIBLE TICKET FOR YOU.

The Gogebic Range Trail Authority Groomers Report: Trail 2 from Ironwood to Bessemer has been groomed and is in good condition, and Bessemer to Wakefield is fair. Trail 2 to Marenisco and trail 160 have been groomed and are in good to very good condition. Trail 160 still has logging activity so use caution. Trail 11 north is in fair condition. The water hole is frozen, but still use caution. Trail 11 south is closed due to logging operations. Trail 8 has been groomed and is in good condition. Lake Gogebic Groomer’s Report: Once again, temps are hovering a little too high for really good conditions on the trails. However, snow showers are in the forecast and we have a cool down to look forward to for Sunday and into next week. The big news is a reroute over the area where trails 1, 102 and 8 west meet. Work will begin on Monday, Jan. 26th and run thru the remainder of the season. Watch for changes and new signing in this area. The Watersmeet Groomer’s report: Groomers are running daily and the trails are in good condition. They are doing their best keeping up with the heavy traffic on weekends. Warmer temps Saturday will make it difficult for the trails to set up, but a cool down to the teens on Sunday will be a big help. Please understand what the groomers are up against on these busy weekends. Please follow the orange barrels and stay on trail going across Cisco Chain.

Western U.P. Snowmobile Trail Report January 13, 2015 Temps today will be a high of 12 with sunshine. Tomorrow it will be a bit warmer with a high of 18. They are calling for snow showers tonight and tomorrow night. We have been getting complaints that snowmobilers are not staying on the trails. Please stay on trails, we can lose easement from property owners if this isn’t followed through. Tickets are being issued to people who do not stay on trails. PLEASE STAY ON TRAILS. The Gogebic Range Trail Authority Groomers Report: Trail 2 from Ironwood to Bessemer is groomed and is in very good condition. Trail 2 from Bessemer to Marenisco is groomed and is in good condition. Please if you see anyone removing the signs please report them. The signs are there for the safety of the riders!!! Lake Gogebic Groomer’s Report: January 9th, 2015 We received about a foot of new snow from Thursday evening to Friday am! Lots of new white stuff to play in for everyone!! And the other bit of good news is trail 102 has now been groomed completely through and we’re very happy to report no more wet spots due in large part to the hard work of our groomer drivers, mechanics and volunteers, but also due to the extreme cold we’ve been shivering through all week. In fact, word is that there are no more wet spots on any of our trails…just in time for a busy weekend. All trails are being groomed on a rotating basis. With more cold weather expected maybe we won’t have any more of the problems we battled in December. The Watersmeet Groomer’s report: Groomers are running daily and the trails are in very good condition. Not much more to say than that! Ride right, ride safe!! Please follow the orange barrels and stay on trail going across Cisco Chain. estern U.P. Snowmobile Trail Report January 9, 2015 More snow and cold today. The weekend looks better with the temps for highs in the low teens. Sunshine on Saturday and cloudy on Sunday. All our trails are improving… We have been getting complaints that snowmobilers are not staying on the trails. Please stay on trails, we can lose easement from property owners if this isn’t followed through. Tickets are being issued to people who do not stay on trails. PLEASE STAY ON TRAILS. The Gogebic Range Trail Authority Report: Trails 2 & 8 are groomed and are in good to very good condition. Trail 11N is groomed and has one large water hole so travel with care, overall trail 11 is in good condition. Trail 160 is groomed, everything seems to be frozen, the trail is in good to very good condition. Use caution on this trail logging is on going. Logging trucks have the right away. 11S is closed for the season due to logging. We have had reports of signs being removed from the trails. Please if you see anyone removing the signs please report them. The signs are there for the safety of the riders!!! Lake Gogebic Groomer’s Report: All trails are improving with the exception of trail 102. We’re still expecting lots of snow, up to 11-inches, over the next 24 hours – but with lake effect snow you never know when it’ll stop. Our groomer drivers were able to install a culvert on trail 102 Wednesday, however technical difficulties prevented them from getting the groomer all the way through to trail 11, but they’ll be back at it asap. 102 has been a big problem for us this year with lots of water in areas where we have never had to deal with water in prior years. I’ll keep you posted when I know more on those conditions. We really couldn’t be asking for better weather conditions right now so the trails are getting back to where we (and you) would like to see them with all other trails being groomed at this time. We are currently in a very cold snap for the remainder of this week, through next weekend with more snow in the forecast almost every day. The Watersmeet Groomer’s report: Groomers are running daily and the trails are in very good condition. Not much more to say than that! Ride right, ride safe!! Please follow the orange barrels and stay on trail going across Cisco Chain.

Western U.P. Snowmobile Trail Report January 5, 2015 We have a wind chill warning for today until noon today. For the next few days we will have bitter cold temps. Once again this cold weather will help with our water problems. Groomers in all areas are doing with they can to get the trails to where they are suppose to be. The Gogebic Range Trail Authority Report: Trail 11: south is closed again due to logging on Keweena Ironwood: was groomed this morning and is in very good condition Trail 2: was groomed this morning Jan. 02 and in very Good/Excellent condition, there still some areas of water on the side of trail in spots but the trail is in good shape. Trail 160: was groomed this morning on Jan. 02, there are a couple of wet spots open so be careful and there is some logging going on as well, good to very good condition. 11 north: has been groomed this morning Jan. 02 with one large water hole trail is very good condition. We have had reports of signs being removed from the trails. If anyone sees someone removing the signs please report them. The signs are there for a reason so please leave the signs in place. This is for the safety of the riders.. Lake Gogebic Groomer’s Report: Ok, where do I start? Very wet conditions along with holiday crowds can wreck havoc on trials. Please remember that most of our trail system runs through the Ottawa National Forest. Not paved sidewalks or roads. We are experiencing problems that we have never seen before. Trail 102 is still closed due to lots of water (where we have never seen water before). We hope to get some more culverts in this week and try to get it open. Trail 8 west is being groomed today, however the groomer is taking the trail a bit off where it usually runs in an attempt to avoid…yes, you guessed it…more water. All other trails have seen improvement but the amount of sleds crossing our trails this last week wouldn’t allow the trails to remain in great shape for more than a few hours. All other trails are mostly good to fair with some rough spots to look for on 13 north. We received about 5-inches of new snow over last night and it’s been snowing all day. We’re entering into a very cold snap for this upcoming week through next weekend with more snow in the forecast almost every day. That’s the good news. We’ve also started to see a slowdown in traffic today which will help the trails as well. We apologize to anyone who was disappointed in the trails this last week. Again, I can only tell you that we had a very wet fall followed by 90-inches of snow in November (a record) which insulated the ground and wouldn’t let it freeze. Then once December hit it warmed up and we actually saw rain one day. The same people who’ve been involved with the work on the trails are still at the helm for over 20 years and we’ve never dealt with these conditions before. Please have patience and know that we are working hard to get our trails back to the award winning condition we’ve offered in the past.

Western U.P. Snowmobile Trail Report January 2, 2015 With our cold weather, things are starting to improve. Cold temps and snow showers are in the forecast through the weekend but they do not give an accumulation. The Gogebic Range Trail Authority Report: Trail 11 South is still closed due to logging on Keweenaw Land. We have had groomers with drags out on Trail 2 from Hurley to Marenisco and it is in good condition There are some areas of water on the side of the trail but they should freeze up with the cold temps we have been having. Trail 160 was groomed and has some wet areas and there is logging on it as well. Trail 11 north has been packed by tractor and was groomed, but is in poor condition due to the wet spots. Beavers were very active this fall and with the amount of snow, the water has been insulated. It is important to stay on the trail because of this. We have had reports of signs being removed from the trails. If anyone sees someone removing the signs please report them. The signs are there for a reason so please leave the signs in place. This is for the safety of the riders.. Lake Gogebic Groomer’s Report: What a difference a few days of really cold temps can make. Groomers report that trail 1 south is in great shape, 13 south is much improved with the wet spots frozen over now, 8 west is still a bit tricky but should be improved soon, 102 is still not a good option but trails 1 north, 13 north and 8 east are in good condition. Weather conditions are very favorable for riding this weekend with lake effect snow on the way for Sunday and Monday’s high expected at -4. We’ve got lots of snowmobilers in the area over this holiday period with families so please be cautious and watch out for other snowmobilers, especially the young ones. Always remember to ride in a single file on the trails and stay to the right..you never know who or what (deer) might be coming around the next corner.

Western U.P. Snowmobile Trail Report December 30, 2014 With our cold weather things should start to improve. Groomers are out doing as much as they can to get the trails in shape. The Gogebic Range Trail Authority Report: Trail 2 between Marenisco and Korpela Road has a two mile detour TFN due to a bridge washout. The rest of Trail 2 was groomed today and is in good condition. Trail 8 to Tula was groomed today and is in good condition. Trail 160 is being groomed now.. Conditions are now poor to fair with some wet spots and be alert for logging operations. Trail 11 South is closed for the season due to logging. Trail 11N still has not been groomed due to the wet spots but they are hoping to get this groomed on Wednesday. We have had reports of signs being removed from the trails. If anyone sees someone removing the signs please report them. The signs are there for a reason so please leave the signs in place. This is for the safety of the riders.. Lake Gogebic Groomer’s Report: Most of our trails still have some major water concerns. Trail 8 west has several water areas and is pretty rough as the groomers have not been able to get through most of it over this last week. Trail 13 south has some very wet areas towards the south end and 1 south and 100 also have wet areas. 102 has become very difficult to ride as, again, the wet areas opening up over the last couple of weeks have created problems. 13 north is rideable but there will be some very wet spots you’ll have to cross in some areas of this trail. 1 north and 8 east are the best trails we have at this time. With the much colder temps finally here it should help a lot with these areas, but it will take time. These are not just problems facing our groomer drivers as there are loggers in our area that are facing entire roadways washed out in the woods. Hang in there, we’re doing everything we possibly can to get our trails to where they should be. While we have been out grooming that does not mean all the trails have been able to be groomed. We’re doing the ones that we can and working hard to get the others to the point where we can groom them. Watch for signs to show a change on trail 1 South from Rd. 8800 to Marenisco. The Watersmeet Groomer’s report: Groomers are running daily and the trails are in good shape! There are areas with wet spots where caution is still needed! CAUTION on Trail 3 south of Bond Falls Rd there is a wet area in the middle of the trail PLEASE RIDE WITH CAUTION! Follow the orange barrels and stay on trail going across Cisco Chain. Please remember groomers are out both day and night, so watch for them, Please pull over or at least slow down and wait for the operator to signal you by whenever you see them. We will only have temps in the single digits today and tomorrow with the rest of the week only with highs in the teens. We will have a low of -10 tonight and -9 tomorrow night. Trail 160 will be groomed Tuesday. Groomers are hoping with this cold weather they will be able to do a better job on this trail. Conditions are now poor to fair with some wet spots and be alert for logging operations. Trail 11 South is closed for the season due to logging. Trail 11N still has not been groomed due to the wet spots but they are hoping to get this groomed on Tues. I will have a better report for you tomorrow. Lake Gogebic Groomer’s Report: More snow, again, last night and we’re finally seeing temperatures drop to a better grooming degree. However, most of our trails still have some major water concerns. Western U.P. Snowmobile Trail Report December 26, 2014 Our temps will only be in the low 30′s today and high of 25 on Saturday. They are calling for snow showers through the weekend and our nights will be in the single digits. This will help with our wet spots. The Gogebic Range Trail Authority Report: Trail 2 between Marenisco and Korpela Road has a two mile detour TFN due to a bridge washout. The rest of Trail 2 was groomed today and is in fair condition. Trail 8 to Tula was groomed Tuesday and is in good condition. Trail 160 is Fair with many wet spots and be alert for logging operations. Trail 11 South is closed for the season due to logging. Lake Gogebic Groomer’s Report: Although we did have groomers on the trails yesterday it was mostly to fill in water holes. Our trails are still in poor to fair condition with wet areas still posing a problem. We do expect much colder temps this weekend which should greatly improve conditions. We have received an additional 6- 8 inches or more of wet snow over this last week which should pack nicely. Trails 8 east and 1 north are in the best condition. Trail 13 north is in fair condition with some bad spots to watch out for. Trail 8 west is in fair to poor condition with a couple of very wet spots. Do not get off the trail here as conditions are much worse off trail…even if it looks like nice snow there will be a lot of water underneath. Trail 13 south is in fair condition until you get to the south end of it where there are a couple of really big wet holes. Trail 1 south is rideable but not in great shape due to water. Watch for a change on trail 1 South from Rd. 8800 to Marenisco. We’ve been encountering more water problems in this area and have rerouted…just watch for signs. These water problems are beyond our control and are everywhere. It’s just a combination of a wet fall followed by a 90-inch insulating blanket of snow in November, followed by some recent warm ups. We are set up for when the cold does come (20 or below is best) as the trails have been packed and will freeze better now. This next week is looking really good with much colder temps and more snow! Keep checking back and I will update as conditions change. The Watersmeet Groomer’s report: Groomers report conditions are good with a few fair areas where there are wet spots on Trail 2 West and 13 South, but you are able to get around these problem areas. Follow the orange barrels and stay on trail going across the Cisco Chain. Please ride with caution.. Please remember groomers are out both day and night, so watch for them, Please pull over or at least slow down and wait for the operator to signal you by whenever you see them. Groomers have the right of way. JUST ONE MORE REMINDER: PLEASE STAY ON MARKED TRAILS. Western U.P. Snowmobile Trail Report December 22, 2014 Looks like we will be dealing with temps in the low 30′s until Friday. After Friday I temps will drop to the teens during the day and only single digits at night. With these temps the weekend will be a bit more promising for riding. We will keep you updated. The Gogebic Range Trail Authority Report: Trails 2,8 and 160 all have been groomed. Trail 2 and 8 are in good condition. On Trail 160 the last three miles of the trail has little snow and mud. Trail 11N has not been groomed. Groomers will get to this when the weather permits. There is running water in the creeks and the swamps are still open so PLEASE USE CAUTION IF YOU PLAN TO RIDE. Trail 11 south will be closed for the season due to logging. Lake Gogebic Groomer’s Report: Conditions are once again too warm for grooming, at least during the daytime hours. We did get an additional 2 – 3 inches of new snow over last night and more is expected this week along with much colder temperatures just in time for the weekend. Watch for a change on trail 1 South from Rd. 8800 to Marenisco soon. We’ve been encountering more water problems in this area and hope to reroute…just watch for signs. The Watersmeet Groomer’s report: Groomers are out and reporting all trails are groomed. Conditions are fair to good with some wet spots but you are able to get around these problem areas. Please ride with caution.. Please remember groomers are out both day and night, so watch for them, Please pull over or at least slow down and wait for the operator to signal you by whenever you see them. Western U.P. Snowmobile Trail Report December 19, 2014 Things are looking up for the weekend. Saturday they are calling for a high of 29 and low of 23 followed by a high on Sunday of 32 and a low of 29 with cloudy skies. We are still dealing with wet areas in the woods so please stay on trails. Over all conditions are fair to good with wet spots…. The Gogebic Range Trail Authority Report: Trail 2 from Ironwood to Marenisco is groomed and is in good condition with some wet spots mostly east of Wakefield. Trial 8 is groomed and again it is in good condition. There is running water in the creeks and the swamps are still open so PLEASE USE CAUTION IF YOU PLAN TO RIDE. Trail 11 south will be closed for the season due to logging. Lake Gogebic Groomer’s Report: We’ve got the snow back that we lost (about 8-inches), but conditions are still very wet. A lot of the streams re-opened earlier this week and the word is the woods are still very wet. Once again, it’s very important that you stay on the trails as the conditions off trail will be worse. We’ve got a few nights coming up with very cold temperatures that will help the trail situation. Groomers have run on all the trails, some with drags and hopefully all with drags by this weekend. If daytime temps get a little too high the grooming will be restricted to night hours only. Watch for a change on trail 1 South from Rd. 8800 to Marenisco soon. We’ve been encountering more water problems in this area and hope to reroute…just watch for signs. The Watersmeet Groomer’s report: Groomers are running nightly again and the trails are in fair to good shape. The fair areas are the wet spots on trail 2 west and 13 south the rest of the system is in good shape. It’s going to be a cold night so things should set up nicely Please remember groomers are out both day and night, so watch for them, Please pull over or at least slow down and wait for the operator to signal you by whenever you see them. Groomers have the right of way. JUST ONE MORE REMINDER: PLEASE STAY ON MARKED TRAILS. Western U.P. Snowmobile Trail Report December 18, 2014 With temps back to normal condition of the trails should improve. Temps today will be a high of 25 with a low of 6 for tonight. Tomorrow our high will be 28 with a low of 16. We need these temps to help firm things up. The Gogebic Range Trail Authority Report: Trail 2 from Ironwood to Marenisco is groomed and is in fair condition with some wet spots mostly east of Wakefield. Trial 8 is groomed and again it is in fair condition with a few wet spots. There is running water in the creeks and the swamps are still open so PLEASE USE CAUTION IF YOU PLAN TO RIDE. Trail 11 south will be closed for the season due to logging. Lake Gogebic Groomer’s Report: Well, we’ve got a slight improvement after Mondays rain, it turned to snow overnight giving us about 3-inches. However, it is very wet snow…on top of rain…on top of already wet ground. We’re expecting mostly 20’s for highs this week, although the nighttime temps look to drop down into the single digits later in the week which should help a lot. Can’t say for sure how good conditions will be for this next weekend just yet but for now you should stay off the trails as you will encounter a lot of wet and mud in some spots. The Watersmeet Groomer’s report: Groomers did not run last night but will be heading out today! We got 6-8 inches of new snow, the temps got down into the teens and it’s still snowing. This should improve the conditions nicely.

Western U.P. Snowmobile Trail Report December 15, 2014 Our temps will still be warm today but overnight our conditions will improve. We are suppose to get snow tonight and tomorrow. This will help get the trails back in shape. The groomers are down until weather permits them to go back out. Be Patient it is still early season so we have a whole season in front of us. The Gogebic Range Trail Authority Report: Things are on hold right now. Groomers have not been out for several days due to the weather. We will keep you posted once we can get back out to let you know what conditions are in. Right now they are poor. Everything is very wet. Trail 11 south will be closed for the season due to logging. Lake Gogebic Groomer’s Report: Wet, wet, wet…pretty much sums up our trail conditions right now and the groomers are off the trails until conditions change. The forecast is calling for a return to normal conditions for this time of year once we get past Monday. On the bright side, this actually may be a good thing for setting the trails up for better conditions for the rest of the season. The trails are packed down so they’ll freeze once the temperature drops and then we’re expected to get more snow through next week. But for now the trail conditions are very poor. I will keep you updated as soon as conditions change so keep checking back. The Watersmeet Groomer’s report: Conditions are poor. Groomers are on hold until weather permits. Hang tight we will keep you posted on conditions as soon as we can. Snowmobile Trail Report December 12, 2014 Our forecast for the weekend looks like we will have warmer weather. They are calling for the high on Friday to be 36 with low of 27. Saturday temps will rise up to 40 with the low of 36. Sunday they are calling for a chance of rain with the high of 40 and low of 32. These temps will not help our wet spots…but we have a whole season in front of us so be patient. The Gogebic Range Trail Authority Report: Trail 2 is in fair to good condition with some wet spots east of Wakefield going to Marenisco. Trail 8 is groomed and in good condition. 11N will be groomed only as far as conditions will allow. There are a lot of wet spots; conditions are poor please use caution when riding this trail. Trail 160 was groomed it is in good condition with a wet spot about half way up the trail. Please use caution when riding the trails it is still early season riding expect wet spots…. Trail 11 south will be closed for the season due to logging. Groomers will be on hold for a few days until weather permits them to get back out. Lake Gogebic Groomer’s Report: Our groomers have been out packing almost our entire trails system, but groomers with drags have only run on trails 8 east, 1 north and 8 west. However we’re experiencing some extremely wet conditions on 8 west right now. It would be best to avoid this trail until we receive colder temps. Don’t try to by-pass the trail by riding to the side of it as the water conditions are even worse off the trail. We’re hoping to have trail 102 open this week as well as 13 north. Although the gates are still closed on 13 north, if you’re very familiar with the trail, you can ride around the gates for now. As the groomers make their way up 13 north they will unlock all the gates. That’s the way we do it every year. While our groomer drivers are making progress on 13 south it still has not been groomed with a drag yet, however, you can still ride along the side of East Shore Road. The Watersmeet Groomer’s report: Trails are in good condition! We’ve had very low traffic and cold temps at night so the groomers have been out making a great base! Forecast is for some warmer temps over the weekend but the groomer drivers say the trails should hold up! Still please use caution when riding in the early season! Keep an eye out for the groomers you never know what they might be doing right around the corner! Snowmobile Trail Report December 8, 2014 It is EARLY SEASON RIDING… For the next two days daytime temps will be in the 20′s and low 30′s with lows in the teens at night. Snow showers Monday and Tuesday with only a few inches accumulation. The Gogebic Range Trail Authority reports that most of the wet spots are frozen over on all the trails. Trail 2 to Marenisco is in fair condition. Trail 8 was groomed Sunday and is open and in good condition. 11N will be groomed mid-week. Trail 11 south will be closed for the season due to logging. Lake Gogebic groomer’s report they have had groomers, with drags, out on Trail 1 north, 8 west and 8 east. Watch for the “wet area” signs on Trail 8 west. Groomers have been on all other trails packing the snow. With the incredible amounts of snow received in Nov., it served to insulate the wet ground. As a result, they are dealing with some wet conditions on some of the trails. It is very important to stay on the trails, as conditions can be worse off-trail. The nights have been cold, so trails should be freezing wherever the groomers have run. The Watersmeet groomer’s report: The system is still being groomed nightly as conditions permit. The trails are in good to fair condition. They are firming up nicely. It’s still early season riding and there are some wet spots on Trail 2 between Trail 13N intersection and Marenisco. CORRECTION: While the Cisco Bar Resort is closed, there is still gas available on the Cisco Chain at Vacationland Resort, The Arrows and Jays Resort. The orange barrels marking the local path across the chain have not been put in place yet. Once the locals feel it is safe enough for traffic, the barrels will be put out. Until then, it is NOT recommended to cross any lake. Please remember groomers are out both day and night, so watch for them, Please pull over or at least slow down and wait for the operator to signal you by whenever you see them. Groomers have the right of way. JUST ONE MORE REMINDER: PLEASE STAY ON MARKED TRAILS. Trails open Dec. 1st they will just be staring to groom most of the trails so not sure what conditions will be like. Most of the trails are going to take some doing to get open with all the snow especially any areas that are wet or swamps as they have not frozen up yet so not sure whats going to happen trying to get them open. My guess its going to be a mess but lets hope not and all goes good. Sam
